A sketch of a middle aged man. You can review the link below for more studies that was part of a 100 drawings exercise to be illustrated daily on our sketchbook for Figure Drawing class at the Academy of Art University (AAU).
A sketch of a nude middle aged lady. I didn't only limit myself to drawing the nude - you can review the link below for a bunch of quick studies I did for Clothed Figure Drawing class.
This was sculpted for a final assessment in Figure Modeling at the AAU. It was my first time ever creating art with my hands dirty - I really enjoyed the organic experience. My instructor was Carol Tarzier who is amazingly talented. Check out the website below to review her portfolio and contributions to the community.
I took what I learnt from Carol's class in Figure Modelling and made a sculpture of my own back home one year later. It is a bust of my protagonist to the Edenspell web-comic series. Visit the link below for the complete behind-the-scenes to this project.
This was an acrylic painting based off a very talented senior student at the AAU Fine Arts department. I dedicated this painting to him for his mentor-ship and friendship we've made during my studies overseas.
This was a project I worked on for Analysis of Form class during my first semester at the AAU. I had to create my own set up using everyday objects and arrange them in a way that's pleasing to the eye. Once I was happy with the composition & lighting I replicated the still life in charcoal. Below is a link to the other possibilities that I could have used for my final.
This charcoal illustration of an old man was drawn in honour of my instructor for Figure Drawing - Carla Crawford. It was a final assessment in class where we had to replicate a master's copy. I decided to have it framed at home with the expertise of Steve from White Frame in Como.
This was a commission done after coming back home to Australia from my studies at the AAU. TwinTailFireFox12 was my client and the illustration was drawn on A4 card stock with a mechanical pencil for the line art and graphite pencils for rendering.
This was a commission done during my studies at the AAU in San Francisco. Geoff was my client and it was an illustration based off of his fiction series - The Wayward Astronomer. This was drawn on A3 card stock, also with mechanical and graphite pencils. I'm rather proud of the details on this piece!
